Canary Islands

Set off the west coast of Africa, just 67 miles from the Western Sahara, this paradisiac group of islands have a constant tropical temperature through all the year and splendid beaches of fine sand.

Consists of 7 larger islands (Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma, Gomera, Hierro) and a few smaller ones (Alegranza, Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Roque del Este, Roque del Oeste and Lobos). Surprisingly, the landscape of each island is radically different to the others.

In 1496 the islands became part of the Spanish kingdom, and the ships of Christopher Columbus stopped here on their travel to discover the New World.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (shortened "Gran Canaria") enjoys sunshine every week of the year. With a tropical climate to the south, a fresher climate to the north & fresher still in the centre. The island of Gran Canaria is known as a "continent in miniature".

Close to the Sahara and receiving hotter weather than any other part of the islands is the southern end of the island . Built into the mountains and along the coast, MasPalomas.

Its long golden beaches are just amazing. MasPalomas has something to offer everyone, whether you're searching for peace and relaxation, somewhere young & lively or a great place to go with the kids.

The Canary Islands' cuisine combines traditional Spanish recipes with African and Latin-American influences. You'll find here an incredible variety of recipes with excellent fish, fruits and vegetables. You'll find a wide variety of international recipes of fish and sea-food, too.

The Canary Islands are a shopping paradise because it is a tax-free harvour. Shopping there is a pleasure as never before. Not even the tax-free shops at the airports can compete with prices in the Canaries. Liqueurs, tobacco, cameras and film cameras, tape recorders, transistor radios, watches, everything is cheaper than in their countries of origin. From Nigerian crocodile skin to ivory carved on the banks of the Ganges or real Chinese silk, the most curious, rarest objects can be found.

Considered one of the best ones of Europe, the hotels infrastructure of Great Canary allows to the tourist a great variety of possibilities. From enjoying the always relaxed beach, to enter itself in the adventure of a leafy forest.

Hotels. Tourist apartments. Rural lodgings. Campings. The ample tourist supply has demanded the construction of new facilities. All of them, with an extraordinary service and customized attention for the most demanding clients.
